I have been wanting to do this winter wonderland styled senior shoot for awhile now. I was originally inspired by the deep burgundy, evergreen and navy tones that you often seen in winter weddings. When the idea popped into my head, the first thing that I did was talk to Ashlyn from Echos of Yesterday. Ashlyn and her mom Angela have an amazing collection of props, and I couldn’t wait to see what she came up with for this styled senior session. The beautiful antique wingback chair, a set of suitcases, chalkboard and mugs of hot coco and marshmallows looked perfect!
Meagan (my go-to makeup artist) and my good friend Demrie were a huge help when it came to styling. As always, Meagan made my makeup visions come to life. I love how she added a touch of drama by making the girls’ eyes and lips pop. Demrie blew me away with her hairstyling skill. Even though she is not a professional hair stylist, she whipped out one elegant updo after another within minutes! I am not going to lie, I am slightly jealous of her talents!
The whole week leading up to the shoot, I was praying that the snow would stick around. On the morning of the shoot, all of the trees were frosted from top to bottom. It was stunning! I decided to do the shoot on the Laramie golf course. I can’t imagine how crazy I looked lugging all of the props through 4 inches of snow to the middle of the golf course, but it was totally worth it. Talk about a winter wonderland!!
Not only did the girls look beautiful, but they had great attitudes! Even though it was freezing, they kept smiling and were willing to play in the snow. I could not have been more thankful for them! It was such a fun day and ended up being a great bonding experience. I have to say that this is my favorite styled senior shoot to date.
